Something about its landscapes, sense of place, and keenly drawn atmosphere has pulled players in and kept them there for years now, and on PC the modding community has made Bethesda's RPG a continuing feast of variety and depth. Now, a new mod adds something that was there in the game from the very beginning but adds life and animation to it.
That's because the animal was previously seen only hanging around, instead of wandering the wilderness. It is the humble pheasant, a game bird commonly associated with English gentry tramping around estates with a lead-shot gun, and with Middle Ages cuisine. 'Pheasants of Skyrim' has been quite the popular mod over the past seven days.

Over on Nexus Mods, Pheasants of Skyrim has been downloaded some 581 times over the past week (at the time of writing), making it the most downloaded during that time period. Uploaded by Edryu, the mod adds pheasants to Skyrim leveled lists. "It was annoying seeing how in every part of Skyrim, there were dead pheasants hanging on the kitchens, but no one to see in the wild," the mod's description reads.
"Each pheasant has a chance to spawn as one of the different variants offered, using a method similar to Splendor," it continues. "There is also a unique set of variants, used only on snowy leveled lists. They were added in the leveled list shared by foxes and rabbits, normal and snow version".
Skyrim has a range of wildlife such as bears, mammoths, foxes, and of course, dragons. But mods have added the likes of cats, giant rabbits and chickens, invincible dogs, and much, more more. But it's curious that until now
