Your relationship with all of the factions will change over time, and as you do more of the missions scattered throughout the game. However, there areways to be proactive and change your reputation without relying on those specific story beats.
Getting the best reputation with the syndicates in will benefit you from many different perks, as well as getting special outfits with great abilities that are often catered to what that faction specializes in. This can get you quite far, as just being able to roam around a planet without fearing retaliation from the various factions is a big win. There’s nothing like going straight for your mission marker and realizing you have ended up in a territory with a bad reputation.

In, the main storyline will often present you with various choices that will often improve your reputation with a various faction, but it can also harm your reputation with others. Picking the right option at that time is tricky, as not everyone will have the same desires and experiences every time. For instance, an early version of this occurs just after sneaking into Pyke Territory in Toshara, and you can pick between giving your information to the Pykes or Eleera, who is with Crimson Dawn.
Striking the balance between the various factions can be difficult, especially at first. For instance, getting a good reputation with the Pykes early will help with the difficulty of the early game on Toshara, but maximizing your relationship with Crimson Dawn will get you the best exclusive outfit.
