Avoiding spoilers for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom(Opens in a new window) became more difficult yesterday after an art book for the game leaked.
The next Zelda game on Switch isn't being released until May 12 and Nintendo is only just starting to ramp up the marketing. However, as Kotaku reports(Opens in a new window), the 204-page art book, which is a pre-order bonus for the collector's edition, has been shared in full online.
It's the Japanese version of the art book and it looks as though someone took the time to take a photograph of each page. The good news is, the art book is mostly filled with full-page images of the characters, objects, and location snapshots from the game so the amount of spoiler material is fairly limited.
Nintendo is usually very quick to have leaked information about its games taken down and isn't afraid to take legal action when necessary. I'm sure the investigation to find out who leaked the art book is already under way internally. As the game launch is still three months away, the number of people with access to the art book will be quite limited. And as the shots are from a printed copy, that should narrow the potential source down even further.
Anyone eager to play Tears of the Kingdom will need to save up as this is going to be Nintendo's first $70 game. You may also want to invest in a larger Micro SD card as the game is nearly 4GB bigger than Breath of the Wild, coming in at 18.2GB. Nintendo will be hoping the actual game doesn't leak before launch, which would be devastating if you consider Breath of the Wild can already be played at 8K with ray tracing on a PC using an emulator.
