A new ad in Famitsu reveals new details about the corrupted version of the Master Sword inside of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Although the latest title in one of Nintendo's storied franchises is set to release in just a few months, there's still plenty that fans don't know about the title. Nintendo has been fairly protective over the details of the game, choosing to limit what it puts out through Tears of the Kingdom trailers that seemingly showcase snippets of gameplay rather than surprising story teasers.
The most recent trailer, which arrived during a new Nintendo Direct earlier in February, featured the most new details fans have seen yet. While showcasing Link moving throughout the familiar looking land of Hyrule, some of the bigger reveals came from the return of the Blood Moon, as well as the use of what appear to be customized vehicles which many fans likened to Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. Now, a recent advertisement has seemingly given players a brief glimpse at a corrupted version of the Master Sword.

The Japanese magazine Famitsu features a new Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ad. Accompanying the image of a badly corrupted Master Sword is text written in Japanese whcih fans have attempted to translate. One version comes from Game Data Library on Twitter which indicates that the text on the right side reads: «The Master Sword, Corrupted.» A shortened version of the smaller text on the left indicates that the sword's appearance will be going under a major transformation.
