The show first aired in 2020, and it followed the lives of sisters Amy and Tammy Slaton, who both wanted to begin weight-loss journeys for personal reasons. For Amy, she wanted to start a family with her husband, Michael Halterman and needed to lose weight so that she would not have a complicated pregnancy. On the other hand, Tammy's journey was necessary as her weight had caused her to become nearly bedridden. Over the seasons, fans watched as Amy worked hard to make her dream a reality while Tammy did not seem to be taking the journey seriously. There were times when Tammy would give fans hope that she was doing better with her journey, but most times, they were left feeling disappointed, much like Tammy's family, who has been taking care of her for many years.
At the end of season 3, Tammy was admitted to the hospital after suffering from carbon dioxide poisoning. Tammy had ended up in a coma, and once she was revived, a tracheotomy was placed in her neck to ensure that sufficient air got to her lungs. Since this issue, Tammy has been in a weight-loss facility where she keeps fans up to date through her social media accounts, mainly Tik Tok and Instagram. Fans shared a proud moment when Tammy took to Tik Tok to share that she had lost weight. This proud moment did not last long as it was revealed that Tammy's video reveal was heavily filtered and another image was released which showed Tammy in a very similar state as she was when she entered the facility.
