The 1.6 update for brought with it so much new content it was recommended players start a brand new save file to experience everything. For the most part, players have universally loved the update, noting the care necessary for ConcernedApe to add so many new features at no additional cost to players. But not all of the changes were necessarily welcome.
Though the 1.6 update was focused primarily on bringing new content to the game, some other items and features were subject to changes and patches, resulting in some long-loved exploits and cheats being removed. Because of this, there are a handful of things players aren't exactly happy about in 1.6. Some of these complaints have solutions that aren't immediately obvious, but there are a handful of adjustments that multiple players have found issues with as they progress through their new save files.

Before the 1.6 update released, clay farming was incredibly easy to do, offering both an easy way to make money early in the game while also being an easy resource to collect for crafting. In previous versions of, players were able to consistently collect clay using a pattern; by hoeing the dirt one tile up and three tiles to the right of the first spot the farmer hoed, players could theoretically stock up on clay incredibly quickly. Unfortunately, the 1.6 update changed this, making it so the pattern no longer works.
"" Reddit user Kodiak_Marmoset commented. Getting the necessary amount of clay for crafting silos is now much harder for players. There is a way to reactivate the old clay farming formula, though. When starting a new game, turning on «legacy randomization» will make clay farming possible again, though those already well into their 1.6 save files will need to start a new one to make this work.
