Musk says that the $8 fee for twitter verification will help solve the issues of spam and bots on the platform, all while creating a revenue generation stream for the company. Food delivery and dineout platform Zomato took the chance to take a dig at Elon Musk with a cheeky tweet.

In the tweet, Zomato goes on to say, “ok elon, how about $8 with 60% off up to $5?” For those who didn't get the reference, the tweet is a dig at the $8 fee controversy and Zomato has a habit of offering big discounts on food orders with coupons. For regular customers of Zomato, these coupons offer an easy way to avail big discounts. For a billionaire like Elon Musk, a 60 percent discount may not matter but for everyone else, this take is hilarious.

Of course, when Zomato trolls someone, you can expect the followers to take a dig at the company itself. People started taking digs at Zomato for their crazy prices and the whole concept of discount. “@elonmusk does not charge a crazy price and then give discount on it,” a Twitter user with the handle @TheSarcasticGuy wrote.

Another guy wrote,”How about $8 + $6 packaging, delivery and tax with 60% off up to $5?” This is another dig at the packaging charges and everything else.
