Fans looking forward to the long-awaited sequel to The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild are going to have to wait a little longer, as Nintendo has officially delayed the game until 2023. 2017’s The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild was a blockbuster success for the Nintendo Switch, and continues to sell well even now. A teaser trailer for BOTW 2 was shown off in the summer of 2019, with a larger BOTW 2 gameplay trailer being unveiled during last year’s Nintendo Direct E3 livestream presentation. This later Breath Of the Wild 2 reveal also included a planned release window of 2022.

Earlier today, Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma addressed fans in a video post on Nintendo Of America's official Twitter account, where he revealed that the fan-dubbed Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 has been delayed until sometime in the spring of 2023. Aonuma explains that this decision was made to allow the development team more time to polish the game, and apologized to players who were looking forward to enjoying the latest Zelda title this year. The teaser video also offered a new look at a ruined Master Sword, hinting at what might befall Link in this new adventure.
