Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have been hosting a variety of distribution events ever since its release last year that give fans a chance to obtain rare Pokemon. Earlier this year, players could catch Shaymin through a special event in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, which ran until near the end of March. The next distribution event for fans is quite exciting as well, as players will be gearing up to catch the Pitch-Black Pokemon Darkrai.

Darkrai was announced alongside Arceus in this special event, where players could obtain the special items that will unlock the areas where these Pokemon can be caught. Players can only access these areas if they have completed a certain amount of prerequisites, which both involve completing the main game. More specifically, players need to be both registered into the Hall of Fame and have obtained the National Pokedex. Upon having both of these conditions completed, fans can go to the next step to obtain Darkrai.

To get Darkrai, some other conditions must have been met, such as meeting its Lunar counterpart Cresselia, and completing the post-game Lunar Feather sidequest. Once that is complete, players must get the Member card item which is available through Pokemon BDSP's Mystery Gift function in the main menu and choose the option to receive the gift via the Internet.

After all of that is done, players can use the Member card item to enter the Harbor Inn, which will cause the player to fall asleep and travel to Newmoon Island.
