Zach Braff has a genius idea for a Scrubs movie, but whether or not it'll ever actually happen is unclear. The subject of a Scrubs continuation is one that's been brought up many times in recent years, and with the amount of TV revivals made of late, it's not hard to see why. Scrubs was never a ratings powerhouse, but its audience was extremely loyal. The story of Braff's Dr. John «J.D.» Dorian and company proved highly compelling, despite its ups and downs.
A testament to the enduring success of Scrubs is that Braff and friend/co-star Donald Faison are now hosting a retrospective podcast about the show called Fake Doctors, Real Friends. The response to the podcast has been quite positive so far. Thus, it's no surprise that a Scrubs revival is on the brains of many, and, for his part, Zach Braff thinks a Scrubs revival is inevitable.

Aside from a full show revival though, Braff recently revealed his ideal dream storyline for a potential Scrubs movie. Braff wants to pay off a running gag fromScrubs season 5, in which it's repeatedly brought up that J.D. and Turk are developing a movie about a vampire doctor, cheekily titled Dr. Acula. J.D. planned to play the title role, but, sadly, nothing ever seemed to come of it. Braff would like a Scrubs movie to see the two friends realize their cinematic dream, and make Dr. Acula a reality as an entirely independent production. As great an idea as that is, it's probably not likely to happen — for several reasons.
