Stranger Things star Natalia Dyer has pitched a spinoff where her character Nancy Wheeler solves mysteries. Stranger Things, which is a retro throwback to everything 1980s pop culture from Amblin films to Stephen King novels and Dungeons and Dragons role-playing games. The series was created by the Duffer Brothers and premiered on Netflix in 2016. Set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, Stranger Things follows the emergence of supernatural threats and quickly became one of the streamer's flagship programs. Season 3, which is the show's most recent outing, is the fourth highest-watched season Netflix has produced so far, just behind the final season of Money Heist and the premieres of Bridgerton and their record-breaking Korean drama Squid Game.
Nancy Wheeler was introduced in the very first episode of Stranger Things and has appeared in every episode since. Although she is not a member of the main group of kids, which includes her little brother Mike, she is at the center of the teenage storyline that has run throughout the series. For the first two seasons, she dated Steve (Joe Keery) the clueless jock with a heart of gold, but found herself entangled in a love triangle with Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton), whose little brother Will's disappearance formed the crux of the entire first season and the discovery of the Upside Down, the dimension from which the monstrous creature known as the Demogorgon emerged.
