Shawn Levy takes to social media to celebrate the release of Stranger Things season 4 part 1. Levy acts as an executive producer for Stranger Things and has directed several episodes of the hit series. Matt and Ross Duffer created the show as a love letter to 1980s sci-fi and horror. The series kicked off in 2016, featuring a story that saw a group of young friends and the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana searching for Will, a boy who disappeared, only to end up in the «upside down,» a dark, alternate dimension.
The cast of Stranger Things includes David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer, and Joe Keery. In addition, the show introduced several unique characters, like the psychically powered young girl Eleven, and terrifying creatures like the Demogorgon. Trailers for season 4 have offered audiences a glimpse of the new terrors the show has in store, including Vecna, a new monster that is also another reference to Dungeons & Dragons, which has been prominent throughout the series.
