Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel has grown to over 40 million downloads, an astounding feat for a game that’s only been out for six months. It’s also continued to receive frequent updates all this time, adding new game modes, limited time events, quality of life features, and more.
August’s update was just teased on the official Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Twitter account, revealing a new casual match mode for those who don’t want their player rank affected. This could be the perfect mode to play with uncompetitive friends or for testing out new ideas in a no-consequences environment.

In addition to the new casual match mode, August’s update will bring a quality of life change that will hopefully speed up matches. A new option will allow players to limit summoning scenes to once per duel, which will shorten games and allow for more matches in a limited amount of time.
The August update will also bring new daily missions as well as a new PvP event, the Duelist Cup, which will run from August 9 to August 22. More details will be available closer to the date.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is also celebrating 40 million downloads by giving away 1000 gems. All you need to do is log in and complete the 40M Downloads Campaign mission before August 31 to receive your gems. The mission is selectable from the Missions screen of the main menu. That’s enough gems to buy ten booster packs or even a few Structure decks, so it’s well worth doing for both newcomers and veterans alike.
