Logan Paul is back in the WWE. The YouTube star signed a new deal with the company preparing for a match against his Wrestlemania tag team partner, former WWE Champion, The Miz. A match is in the works for this year's Summerslam event.
WWE made the announcement Thursday, with interim CEO Stephanie McMahon and Triple H at the star's side. It's unlikely Paul will be a weekly on-screen talent but will likely be a part-time performer who makes appearances at WWE's bigger events, such as Summerslam and Wrestlemania.
ESPN is reporting that the contract will continue into 2023, possibly ending at next year's Wrestlemania. Paul made his WWE debut last year alongside Sami Zayn to much of the WWE fanbase's chagrin. He teamed up with The Miz against Rey Mysterio and his son at this year's Wrestlemania and managed to pick up the win together.
It's been a chaotic few weeks for WWE as Vince McMahon had to step down as chairman due to hush money, which also involves senior official John Laurinaitis in the scandal as well.
Paul is without controversy, obviously, but with sliding ratings and a rising injured list, WWE signing him to a short-term deal wouldn't be the worst idea to get new viewers along for the ride.
WWE Summerslam will take place July 30, the first time the event has been in July, at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville. However, before that PPV happens, Money in The Bank will arrive to PPV and Peacock on Saturday, July 2. Come back to GameSpot that evening for live coverage and a review of the event.
