Although Missy (Raegan Revord) is arguably its best character, Young Sheldon season 5 continues to sideline her. The older version of Sheldon's (Iain Armitage) twin sister was first introduced in The Big Bang Theory. Despite her minimal involvement in the nerd-centric sitcom, she endeared herself to viewers. No wonder there's ample interest in her story in Young Sheldon. Unfortunately, the ongoing CBS comedy continues to underutilize her.
The Coopers are currently busy dealing with Georgie's (Montana Jordan) Young Sheldon season 5 story. Sheldon and Missy's big brother accidentally got his girlfriend, Mandy (Emily Osment), pregnant. George (Lance Barber), Mary (Zoe Perry), and Meemaw (Annie Potts) tried hiding the truth from the twins. After becoming more suspicious, the Cooper parents were finally forced to share this big development with the kids. Now that everyone in the family knows about it, each navigates how they're going to keep the secret.

In the Young Sheldon episode, «Uncle Sheldon and a Hormonal Firecracker,” they all confessed that they blabbed about Georgie's situation to different people. The outing revealed how each one of them couldn't keep the secret — except for Missy. Despite that, she was the only one who genuinely felt sorry for what she did; she reached out to Georgie and properly apologized for it. The pair's interaction is arguably the best bit in the outing, highlighting how great of a character Missy is. The Big Bang Theory failed Missy by making her a punching bag.
