The latest episode of Young Rock season 2, episode 8, «Corpus Christi,» tells the story of future WWE and movie superstar Dwayne Johnson's first-ever wrestling match, and includes a number of depictions of real-life wrestlers. This includes some of the biggest stars of the World Wrestling Federation's «Attitude Era» during the late 1990s and early 2000s, as well as crucial behind-the-scenes figures. The Young Rock episode sees Dwayne Johnson relating the story of his first match to Randall Park as he recovers from food poisoning during his future presidential campaign. As in «Corpus Christi,» Dwayne Johnson's first-ever wrestling match really was in the WWF as part of an untelevised "dark match" before a TV taping for WWF Superstars. In real life, however, Johnson actually had two tryout matches, losing in a dark match the next day before WWF Raw to Skip, later known as Chris Candido.
