You star Victoria Pedretti joins the cast of Hulu's new psychological drama, Saint X. The series is adapted from the novel by Alexis Schaitkin which follows the death of a young woman, Alison, while vacationing on the Caribbean Island of Saint X. Alison's death begins to spiral out and affect the larger community of Saint X as well as causes her sister, Emily, to begin a dangerous hunt for answers. The novel subverts the girl-gone-missing genre by exploring white privilege and the media's obsession with missing white girls.

THR reports that Pedretti, star of Netflix's thriller You, will be joining the cast ofSaint X. Pedretti will play Emily, who must use her quick wit as her seemingly perfect life begins to unravel. Leila Gerstein (The Handmaid’s Tale) is adapting the novel for television and will executive produce the series. Mudbound director Dee Rees will direct the series and ABC Signature, Anonymous Content, and DreamCrew are attached as production companies.
The series will be told from multiple perspectives and timelines. Hopefully, this Rashômon-esque storytelling technique will keep the audience on their toes while not confusing them to the point of frustration. The series is poised to bring a fresh perspective to the missing-girl genre based on the novel's critical acclaim. With Pedretti's vast background in the psychological thriller and horror genre, along with Gerstein's command of screen adaptation and Rees' courageous directing style, Saint X may become the next Hulu hit adapted from a novel such as The Handmaid's Tale and Nine Perfect Strangers.
