Warning! Spoilers ahead for The Book of Boba Fett episode 6!
While there are still mysteries when it comes to the blue lightsaber of the Skywalkers in Star Wars, the fate of the green lightsaber that belonged to Yoda has become one of Disney's biggest plot holes, and the mystery has returned thanks to The Book of Boba Fett. Not only were there potential retcons made with less than satisfying explanations in 2017, but The Book of Boba Fett episode 6 has now made the plot hole even bigger. However, the confusion that now exists around Yoda'a lightsaber may be worth it in the long run.
During the final lightsaber duels of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Jedi Grand Master Yoda fought the new Emperor Palpatine while Obi-Wan fought Darth Vader on Mustafar. Battling in the Republic Senate, Yoda's duel with Palpatine culminated in the diminutive Jedi losing his lightsaber before being blasted back by the Sith lord's lightning, retreating and being rescued by Senator Bail Organa. Yoda would then go into exile on the planet Dagobah, eventually training Anakin's son Luke in the ways of the Force in Empire Strikes Back. Interestingly enough, the 2016 book Star Wars: Complete Locations depicted Yoda's hut featuring a small box containing Yoda's lightsaber, an odd reveal seeing how he's seen losing it while dueling Palpatine. Furthermore, 2017's canonical Darth Vader series from writer Charles Soule begins immediately after the end of Revenge of the Sith with the Emperor and Vader watching Grand Vizier Mas Amedda destroying several lightsabers of fallen Jedi in a massive furnace, the last of which is identified as Yoda's.
