Ubisoft is launching its own free-to-play Call of Duty-like arena shooter with maps, weapons, and more drawn from its own games like Watch Dogs, Far Cry, and The Division. It's called XDefiant, and ahead of its launch, it invited players to a closed beta, but it ran into a problem - progression wasn't working. So, as a temporary solution, it's giving out all weapons and attachments for free.
In XDefiant, much as with most modern shooters, you unlock weapons and attachments via challenges and XP. For instance, to get the AK-47, you have to deal 1,000 damage to enemies with assault rifles, while attachments are earned by playing matches with their associated weapon. The issue is that progression keeps resetting after matches, so now you'll simply have everything at your disposal from the get-go.

While you now have access to every weapon and attachment without having to unlock them individually, there is another bug players are running into that Ubisoft Support is aware of - loadouts resetting. This is currently under the "Issue(s) are being actively worked on" tab.
"Class and loadouts might not save, we are investigating the issue," Xdefiant tweeted. "So make sure to prepare your class as soon as you join a match!"
Some players report that changing your character's skin can cause the loadout to save, so it might be worth giving a try if you run into this bug. Otherwise, as Ubisoft says, you'll have to scramble to sort it at the start of a match, so make sure you know what you want before queuing.
