Xbox Game Pass adds the popular survival sandbox game Valheim to its console line-up, making it available to subscribers as well as any Xbox One and Xbox Series X users for the first time. It was previously added to PC Game Pass, giving the title a slight history on Game Pass.
This is no doubt exciting for survival game fans, but whether interested or not, Xbox Game Pass subscribers have a strong week ahead of them. Valheim is available for Game Pass now, and its popularity cannot really be understated. Meanwhile, Xbox Game Pass will be following it up with Civilization 6 on March 16, and that franchise has always been a staple of the strategy genre. The service is also expected to announce any other upcoming additions relatively soon.
Day One Xbox Game Pass Game Delayed Indefinitely
Valheim is celebrating its Game Pass launch on consoles with a new launch trailer. Not only does it give fans a good look at the game graphically, but it makes a couple of promises like how players are able to explore this tenth world, discover many wonders, build a dedicated base from the surrounding resources, gather friends, and prove themselves to Odin. Valheim's deep Norse mythology roots are self-evident too, throughout this trailer and the actual game. To sweeten the pot, Valheim's co-op features aren't just limited to the new console player base.
Valheim developer Iron Gate confirmed that the game has full crossplay capabilities with these new Xbox platforms, the Microsoft Store on PC, and Steam too. This should be helpful as less experienced players are able to check out all the possibilities of the game before potentially delving into their own personal servers or whatnot.
