With over 160 superstars and more still to come via DLC, WWE 2K22's roster could very well end up being the largest in the series' history. Even in the base version of the game though, not all of the superstars are available by default, with players needing to unlock them by playing through the game.
WWE 2K22 DLC Roster Has Some Glaring Snubs
The bulk of the unlockable content in WWE 2K22 can be found in the game's store, which contains 40 superstars and championships as well as five new arenas; all of which can be purchased using in-game currency. Some of the additional content can only be unlocked through Showcase mode though, which, this year, focuses on the illustrious career of Rey Mysterio.
As fans of the WWE 2K franchise should already know, Showcase mode typically focuses on the career highlights of one particular superstar and has been a staple of the series since making its debut back in WWE 2K15. In this year's iteration, players will need to play through 12 classic Rey Mysterio matches, the last of which will only become available once players have completed all of the objectives from the first eleven.
For each match that players complete, they'll unlock new arenas, attires, championships, and superstars, though some of these will only be unlocked if players complete all of the objectives in their respective matches. Doing so is usually fairly simple, but those having trouble can pause the game at any time for hints on how to complete the current objective.
As well as the match and objective rewards, completing all of the objectives in the final match will reward players with 3,500 of the game's virtual currency. This can then be used to purchase new superstars, arenas, and championships at the store; assuming,
