Near the end of last year, World of Warcraft brought back the popular Mage Tower class challenges during its first-ever Legion Timewalking event.Now, World of Warcraft just announced the Mage Tower is coming back again soon–and this time, it is here for good.
The Mage Tower itself was a high-difficulty solo challenge introduced during the Legion expansion. It contains seven different encounters, each of which can be accessed by a specific set of class specializations.

Blizzard’s recent announcement confirmed the Mage Tower would be returning on March 29th and would no longer be tied to the Legion Timewalking event. While Timewalking events usually lasted a week or two, they would be separated by several months, meaning players who were unable to complete all the Mage Tower challenges in time would have to wait to try them again. Starting at the end of March, the challenges – and the cosmetic rewards within – will be available indefinitely.
The original run of the Mage Tower in Legion held a number of unique rewards and achievements players could earn by completing each challenge. The Timewalking version introduced new rewards – though most were recolors of the original rewards – those who defeated every challenge within the Mage Tower could unlock the new Soaring Spelltome mount from the Shadowlands mount voting contest. Though the original rewards from Legion can no longer be earned, the new set of rewards will no longer be exclusive.
