Apple TV+ unveils a new trailer for its upcoming crime thriller series, Shining Girls. Starring Emmy award-winner Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale), the show focuses on a Chicago-based journalist named Kirby Mazrachi who struggles to come to terms with a brutal assault inflicted against her years earlier. Confronted by a murder with similarities to her own attack, Mazrachi partners with crime reporter Dan Velazquez (Wagner Moura) in the hopes of uncovering the killer's identity once and for all.
In the new trailer released by Apple TV+, it becomes apparent that the events of Mazrachi’s assault continue to haunt her. Left to cope in a constantly warping reality where the faces of her own friends and pets appear to be ever-changing, the sinister time-bending nature of Mazrachi’s attacker is slowly suggested. Mazrachi becomes increasingly convinced she has been stalked by the same age-less individual since childhood. Check out the trailer below:

Based on the best-selling novel by Lauren Beukes, Shining Girls was adapted for the small screen by showrunner Silka Luisa. The pair also serve as executive producers on the eight-episode series alongside Hollywood A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio, Moss, and several others. Completing the cast with Moss and Moura are Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot), Phillipa Soo (Hamilton), and Amy Brenneman (The Leftovers). In addition to starring and executive producing, Moss directs two episodes of the series. Shining Girls makes its premiere on Apple TV+ on April 29. Three episodes will drop that day, with subsequent episodes released one at a time on Fridays.
