According to Xbox executive Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, Resident Evil Village is slated for a Game Pass launch. Rumblings of a potential Game Pass release for RE Village began making the rounds earlier this week when a Polish website stumbled across an Xbox Store listing where the horror title bore an “included in Game Pass” badge. It didn't take long for such findings to make their way to Reddit, prompting many to believe Xbox and Capcom would have big news to share in the near future.
Capcom shipped the eighth mainline Resident Evil title in May 2021 to widespread acclaim from critics and players alike. A sequel to 2017's Resident Evil 7, RE Village followed Ethan Winters to a remote village in Eastern Europe as he tracked down the whereabouts of his infant daughter, Rose. Ethan quickly found himself biting off more than he could chew, with werewolves, eerily alluring vampires, and other types of strange horrors lurking around every corner of the isolated village. Though RE Village's impressive sales figures indicate that a sizable audience has already experienced its many terrors, hopes were high that even more people would soon feel inclined to step into Ethan's shoes.
