MethodJosh, a former Twitch streamer who was banned from the platform after facing allegations of rape, sexual harassment, and grooming minors, has been found working under a pseudonym, recently developing for an NFT start-up. The streamer, whose real name is Josh Thompson, was a developer and potential cofounder for Gem.xyz, and was recently working in this new field.
Now aware of the allegations, which were made back in 2020, Gem has made the decision to terminate Thompson "immediately". The company claims it had no knowledge of the allegations beforehand, and says that Thompson worked for them under the name, Neso. This is despite Gem having documents listing his full legal name, including documents that granted Thompson a significant amount of stock in the NFT venture.

This news was uncovered by an investigation from BuzzFeed, which has published Gem documents listing Thompson's full legal name, nationality, and home address. It comes after Thompson was alleged to have used his platform to make sexual advances on viewers, sometimes as young as 13. He was also accused of rape by a fellow streamer.
"We recently became aware of allegations that a member of the team, Neso, has engaged in a pattern of sexual misconduct", reads a statement on the termination, shared in the company's Discord. "As you may know, our company is fully remote, and Neso was an anonymous developer. As such, this was the first we'd learned of allegations of any kind about this individual. After immediately undertaking a review of the allegations, we determined their actions to be in clear violation of our values and expectations, and we exited Neso immediately."
