March 13th has brought another Wordle word to guess, and this one could possibly count as a loss for many players. Wordle is a once-a-day word-guessing game that gained popularity throughout 2022 with its easy gameplay, once-a-day puzzles, and excellent social media presence. Players from all over the world continue to share their daily scores and prove how well they know the classic game of Mastermind.
Wordle gives players six chances to guess a single five-letter word. Played on a 5x6 grid of boxes, would-be word sleuths begin with any random starting word. The game then gives information based on the guess provided by highlighting certain letters green if they are correct, yellow if they are correct but in the wrong spot, or grey if they are not in the word at all. Using these clues players try to discern what the correct answer could be. Normally any five-letter word is available to guess, but Wordle also has a 'Hard Mode' that can be accessed through the options menu. With this mode players must use the clues provided and are no longer able to slip in letters that have previously been proven incorrect, this requires a little more critical thinking and forces players to focus on what the word could be instead of random guesses.

Wordle uses colored emoji boxes to show the player's attempts without actually spoiling the words they used to get there. This simple, spoiler-free way of sharing a player's journey has drawn more players to the game
