Motorola nailed it with the Edge 30 Pro in India as the most value packed flagship phone you can buy today. For Rs. 50,000, the Edge 30 Pro offers a nice display, the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, and great battery life. However, for those wanting to have a similar experience at a lower price, Motorola is working on an Edge 30 midrange model that could succeed last year’s Edge 20. The phone has just visited the Geekbench and revealed its choice of chipset.
Based on the obtained information from the benchmarking platform, the Motorola Edge 30 is apparently relying on the brand new Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset. The Snapdragon 778G Plus is an updated version of the Snapdragon 778G, and is currently the second fastest chip after the entire Snapdragon 800 series chips. Theoretically, you can expect 20 percent gains in graphics performance and a mild upgrade in CPU performance.
Other than the chipset, the Edge 30 Pro is also coming with Android 12 out of the box, as expected. The phone was spotted with 8GB of RAM as standard. Similar to the Edge 30 Pro, the Ready For feature will also be part of this handset.
What remains to be seen is when Motorola launches it in global markets, including India. The Edge 20 launched last year was one of the nicest phones in the sub-Rs. 30,000 space. Motorola offers some very high-end features such as a 144Hz OLED display, a 108MP main rear camera, a 3x optical zoom camera, and a good battery life. The new model could take the fight to recently announced iPhone SE 2022, which gets the A15 chip from the iPhone 13.
The Motorola Edge 30 Pro that we saw this year made some clever choices to achieve its clever pricing. We reviewed the phone a month ago and were impressed with its overall Android
