Monolith Productions' upcoming game has enlisted help from a studio well-versed in DC games. The title was revealed during The Game Awards 2021, but there have been very few details surrounding the title since other than its inclusion of Monolith's "" system from its acclaimed and titles, and the confirmation that it would be separate from the Arkhamverse.
As reported by , new job listings state that Monolith Productions will be working with WB Games Montréal, the studio behind and. WB Games Montréal's job listing for an External Development Artist explicitly named Monolith’s game as the project the candidate would be working on, providing support between the studio's internal Level Art team and its external network of global developers to help create in-game props, architecture, and natural assets.
WB Games Montréal has had plenty of experience with DC games over the years, albeit with two -centric titles. While its 2013 Arkhamverse prequel, has been overlooked, and is often left out of the Arkham series' re-releases, it still had plenty going for it with its snowy open-world Gotham at Christmas, and its story of the first meeting of Batman and Joker setting up their rivalry through the rest of the series.
The studio also told a story outside of the Arkhamverse that focused on the other members of the Bat Family in the wake of Batman's death in 2022's This also featured an open-world Gotham, and four playable heroes for players to swap between, each with their own traversal and gameplay styles. Even though Monolith hasn't confirmed whether its open-world game is set in Themescyra or another part of the planet, it would be great to see WB Games Montréal step away from Gotham and explore a different part of the DC universe.
Considering the game's announcement was years ago, hopefully, Monolith will have some update on what players can expect from its title at some point this year. Fortunately, despite Warner Bros looking to make more of its IPs into live service
