The X-Men hero known as Wolverine has an iconic and deadly set of adamantium-coated claws that he uses with abandon, but when accidentally popping them in a gross way, fans are reminded how they truly work! Let’s just say Logan’s knuckles aren’t the only place his claws can spring out of, and when they don’t, it isn’t pretty.
Seen in the eleventh issue of the 2015 series titled Wolverines, by Charles Soule and Ariela Kristantina, this issue takes place after the death of the original Wolverine during the events of Death of Wolverine. Following a group of Weapon X test subjects plus a handful of associates of Logan’s in X-23, Sabretooth, Daken, and more, this series deals with the fallout of Wolverine’s death and how his closest acquaintances are affected by the unexpected tragedy.

Flashing back a few years to when Logan was getting hammered on the floating spaceport called Knowhere, this issue opens up with a discussion about how Wolverine could get drunk in the first place as his healing factor doesn’t allow him to stay buzzed for very long. Explaining how a constant flow of intoxicants, hallucinogens, and stimulants ended up doing the trick, it’s revealed that Logan is decidedly not a well-put-together drunk, made especially apparent after he attempts to pop his claws right then and there at the bar.
Inexplicably forming a thick Canadian accent the more he drinks, Wolvie proceeds to drunkenly unsheathe his iconic weapons, just not in the way fans are used to seeing. Snikt-ing them from the underside of his wrists instead of between his knuckles, the horrifying visual is enough to make readers gag based on the sheer gory nature of the mistake
