The Dungeons & Dragons cartoon from the 1980s will be making a comeback in 2022, as WizKids has announced a line of miniatures for the next D&D Starter Set that will feature modernized versions of classic characters from the series. D&D has referenced the cartoon in 5e campaigns in the past, but has largely avoided players taking on the role of characters from the series.
The next D&D Starter Set is D&D Starter Set: Dragons of Stormwreck Isle. The set was officially announced during the first-ever D&D Direct online showcase, but it was revealed earlier by Hasbro during a recent product trailer. This new set will also launch alongside some free digital onboarding tools that are intended to help new players get to grips with the game.
