Lydia Plath from Welcome to Plathville truly believes that she has a voice of an angel, but her new song might not take off. Right now, she is making music her passion. Sadly, fans don't agree that she's a talented vocalist, and feel that her music will disappoint listeners. Lydia is trying her best, but what happens if her strongest effort just isn't good enough?
The 18-year-old has dealt with a lot of changes. Welcome to Plathville fans have watched her join social media, wear pants instead of skirts, and even flirt with her sister's ex-boyfriend, Max Kallschmidt. No change has been more significant than Lydia jumping headfirst into a singing career. Viewers used to love Lydia's «glass-half-full» mentality, but now, they feel that she is a bit delusional, especially when it comes to chasing some of her dreams.

Lydia has released two songs since 2022 began. While Moriah Plath's songs are more mainstream, Lydia has been aiming for the Gospel charts. She has released two songs so far, «Yahweh My God» and «One With the Father.» Immediately, Welcome to Plathville viewers were put off by the sound of Lydia's voice. The third-eldest Plath daughter comes off as a bit tone-deaf and pitchy. It is no secret that Lydia is extremely religious, but many don't think her songs will strike a chord with fans, unless they are religious too. Lydia tried to make a name for herself as a singer during the season 4 premiere, with a scripted The Sound of Music-themed scene, but the song fell flat.
