Welcome To Plathville: Why Kim's 'Cool Mom' Act With Micah Is Cringey
On Welcome to Plathville season 4, Kim Plath's personality is changing dramatically, and when she went out drinking with her son Micah Plath, her «cool mom» act made fans cringe. Since the start of the season, Kim has been acting out in unusual ways, as she is normally very strict about following Christian Fundamentalist rules. Now, she does whatever she wants. In earlier seasons, she was telling the kids that alcohol was bad, even if they were old enough to drink. Kim's latest decision was to start drinking for the first time in over 20 years.
Kim and Barry Plath raised their nine children on an expansive farm in Georgia, choosing to keep them sheltered from everyone outside of the family. Many Welcome to Plathville fans have called the pair out for their harmful behavior towards their kids, as they did not prepare them for the real world. Kim and Barry have shut out their older kids, Ethan, Micah, and Moriah Plath, but eventually repaired their relationships with Micah and Moriah. Over the course of the show, fans, as well as Kim's own kids, have called her manipulative and controlling.

Between Welcome to Plathville seasons 3 and 4, as she went from being set in her ways but happily married to wanting a divorce and changing her entire life, Kim's personality became very different. The new Kim has started dressing in more revealing clothes, wearing more makeup, drinking alcohol, and starting her own dance studio. Her kids have noticed how different she is, with Isaac Plath defending Kim to Ethan by saying she was the coolest mom in his friend group.
Micah is a professional model who has done many racy photoshoots since choosing his career path.
