Why Plathville Fans Think Olivia's Selfish For Making The Memorial About Her
Fans of Welcome to Plathville have always been wary of Olivia Plath’s attitude about several things on the show, including her recent selfishness at the memorial. The fanbase found the way that Olivia reacted at the cemetery disappointing, as she seemed to be trying to take attention away from what was most important at the time, which was the memorial's significance. This level of self-centeredness did not sit well with the viewers, who believe it definitely wasn't the right time for it.
The memorial was for the late Plath family member, Joshua Plath. The Plath siblings Ethan Plath, Moriah Plath, and Micah Plath decided to visit his grave on what would have been his birthday, and Olivia had the urge to tag along for the ride. A lot of viewers thought that her attending the memorial was unusual. What Olivia wasn't expecting was to also see Kim Plath there, when the matriarch had not been invited.

It is safe to say no one anticipated what Olivia did next: not her husband Ethan Plath, nor any of the Plath siblings, and definitely not the Welcome to Plathville season 4 viewers. She decided to invite only Barry Plath along for the memorial visit, which was initially just for the Plath siblings, which meant that Kim was excluded. This did not impress the Welcome to Plathvilleviewers, and was seen as quite manipulative. When she learned that Kim would be at the memorial, she still went ahead and had a “meltdown,” ruining what was an emotional event for the family.
