Many Welcome to Plathville fans criticized Moriah Plath's singing voice when she released her first single, «Missed Myself,» earlier this year. While Moriah has had no formal vocal training, she has been taught singing by her mom, Kim Plath, since she was very young. Kim ensured that all nine of her children learned an instrument and sang regularly, so they could form the controversial Plath Family Band. Moriah has been pursuing music more seriously on recent Welcome to Plathville seasons, but the results were not what fans expected.
On Welcome to Plathville, Moriah has always expressed herself through singing and playing the guitar, as have her other siblings on the series. Lydia opened up season 4 with a faith-based song, while Moriah usually writes and performs her own music.
