Welcome To Plathville follows Kim and her husband, Barry Plath, along with their nine children, who are spread out across the U.S. While Moriah and her brother, Ethan Plath, are starting new lives in Tampa, Florida, Micah Plath has taken an even bigger leap and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a modeling career. Even though the older children are starting new lives, Kim has made the biggest change of all; she separated from Barry. Kim opened Welcome To Plathville season 4 by lightening up on the rules as she started dancing to secular music, wearing makeup, and more revealing outfits. She said she wanted a change after two decades of being just a wife and mother in rural Georgia. Kim seemed to blindside Barry with the news that she was unhappy and would rather live out of a suitcase in their rental properties alone than stay with him.
