Warning! SPOILERS ahead for Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 4.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is referred to by the title of «General» in the latest episode of his eponymous Disney+ series, and it's one he hasn't gone by in a long time. Set 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan Kenobi finds the titular Jedi Master called back into action to save a young Princess Leia Organa. Along the way, Obi-Wan has had to fight off Imperials, Inquisitors, and even Darth Vader, and none of it is easy for the out-of-practice Jedi.
Thankfully, Obi-Wan is not without help. He and Leia have been in the care of Tala, an Imperial Officer who's been helping other Jedi and Force-sensitives flee the Empire through an underground network called the Path. After Obi-Wan's devastating confrontation with Darth Vader, Tala brings him to one of the Path's hideouts to recuperate. While there, he meets a few of the others helping Tala to run the Path, including Roken, who calls Obi-Wan by an old, Clone Wars title when he sees him.

In Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 4, Roken calls Obi-Wan "General," a reference to the rank he held during the Clone Wars. The rank of General was given to all Jedi Masters, Knights, and members of the council during the Clone Wars to establish their place within the Grand Army of the Republic's hierarchy. With the title of General, a Jedi would rank above most Clone Troopers and their commanders, allowing them to take charge in almost all situations. The designation was more out of respect than a sign of military training, but it made sense given how the Jedi were often essential to many of the missions carried out during the Clone Wars.
