Jenna Fischer explains why Jim and Pam's baby was named Cece on The Office.First airing in 2005 on NBC, The Office quickly became a massive hit, chronicling the everyday lives of a group of employees working at the Dunder Mifflin paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The show is based on a British sitcom of the same name starring Ricky Gervais, and ultimately ran for until season 9 before coming to a conclusion in 2013.
In addition to the antics of Steve Carell's bumbling office manager, Michael Scott, The Office is built around the budding romance between Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer). After several seasons' worth of a 'will-they-won't-they' storyline, Jim and Pam finally get together. By season 6, the two fan-favorite characters have a baby girl together named Cecelia «Cece» Marie Halpert. The child would ultimately appear several times throughout The Office at different ages, with Jim and Pam eventually having a second child, a boy named Phillip.
