Jackass Forever is attracting largely positive reviews — here's what the critics are saying. Jackass came to represent the teenage cultural zeitgeist at the turn of the new millennium. Arriving ahead of social media and YouTube — both of which now provide this kind of home video material on tap - Jackass blended the appeal of punk rock music videos with our endless appetite for outlandish pranks and insane stunts. Backed by a killer soundtrack from the likes of CKY and Andrew W.K., Jackass was the ultimate expression of reckless youth. Don't overthink it too much though — it's still essentially grown men hurting each other for our enjoyment.
The crew migrated from MTV to the big screen, releasing Jackass: The Movie in 2002, Jackass Number Two in 2006, and Jackass 3D in 2010. After a lengthy break allowing the various members to walk separate paths, Jackass Forever finally releases February 4, 2022. Reuniting much of the original mob (including Bam Margera, who was fired partway through production), Jackass Forever adds new cast members and a roster of celebrity guests led by Tyler, the Creator, Machine Gun Kelly, and Tony Hawk (obviously.) The creative trio of Jeff Tremaine, Spike Jonze and Johnny Knoxville are also back in place for Jackass Forever, but OG performer Ryan Dunn is sadly absent after passing away in 2011.
