Why Dakota Kai Would Be Perfect In AEW
After choosing not to re-sign with WWErecently, Dakota Kai is a marquee name who should be of interest to AEW. The 34-year-old rose to prominence on the independent scene, originally working under the ring name Evie as a nod to her favorite Pokémon. After signing on to join NXT in 2016, Kai went from a beloved face to a detestable heel and proved that she could hang with some of the biggest names in the business.
The former NXT women's tag-team champion has a hard-hitting style that just about any federation in North America would be happy to roster. Known for her tough strikes, Kai also knows how to handle herself on a microphone. She's a Swiss Army Knife performer who can do outstanding work as a smiley face or dastardly heel, and once her 30-day no-compete clause is up, All Elite Wrestling would be wise to debut her as soon as possible.

It's become all too easy to say that anyone who leaves WWE would be a great fit in AEW. It's true that the federation has snapped up talent from that source aggressively over the last three years, ranging from Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley to Jeff Hardy and Christian Cage. Everyone who leaves the New York Yankees of pro wrestling can't turn around and sign with the Boston Red Sox, though. There is only so much television time to go around, and no one wants to be stuck on AEW Dark for two years without being able to establish themselves on AEW Dynamite or AEW Rampage. Kai isn't just some random name that WWE released from developmental, though.
