Strangely, Thor: Love and Thunder trailer doesn't feature Christian Bale's villain, Gorr the God Butcher at all, and every indication is that there's a good reason for the villain's absence. Thor: Love and Thunder's new characters include Russell Crowe's Zeus and Christian Bale's Gorr the God Butcher, although the trailer revealed very little about either character. Though Zeus could be briefly glimpsed, there was no obvious sign of Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder's trailer, or any overt reference to his place within its story. Instead, the focus was very much on Chris Hemsworth's Thor and his post-Endgame place with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The focus on Thor in the trailer makes no real reference to any villain, which seems to be a clever way of continuing the trend of Thor: Love and Thunder's marketing so far. In comparison to other MCU films, very little has been revealed about Thor: Love and Thunder, and Gorr not having a presence in the trailer is another way in which the film's marketing subverts expectations.
Though the lack of any reference to the film's villain may seem odd, the focus on Hemsworth's Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy is a subtle way of establishing the tone
