Kate Chastain was a long-reigning Chief Stew on Below Deck, who appeared on the popular series for six seasons. After her season 7 exit, the show just wasn't the same. Viewers missed Kate's dry sense of humor, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to stay true to herself, without caring about the other crew members' opinions. She was a favorite among fans of the Bravo series, and everyone is waiting for her to make a comeback.
On Below Deck, Kate was a familiar face who always returned to the show. Since the series has a variety of new «yachties» each season, it was nice to know that there was one person that fans recognized. When she joined Below Deck season 2, Kate was welcomed with positive feedback from viewers. She replaced season 1 Chief Stew Adrienne Gang, whom fans and crew members despised. Not only did Kate work well with most of her crew members, but she also had a real friendship with Captain Lee Rosbach.

When Kate announced that she was leaving Below Deck, fans were upset. The Chief Stews who came on the show after Kate didn't live up to viewers' expectations. In season 8, Francesca Rubi had a cold demeanor and formed a bond with the third stew, Ashling Lorger. The Australian crew member could barely handle the stress while working on a yacht, and fell apart when the job became difficult. Heather Chase was Chief Stew onBelow Deck season 9, but she ruined her reputation when she blurted out an offensive racist slur that was was directed at deckhand Rayna Lindsey. Most Bravo fans agree that Below Deck needs Kate Chastain back on the show, to bring it to life again.
