With Gordian Quest out of early access, players looking for party compositions to get through the game's hardest difficulties have no shortage of options, but there's an ideal character/class combo for those who need the best. For Gordian Quest's full release, a fourth act was added to its campaign, increasing its estimated length to between 15 and 30 hours. Beyond that, a new Adventure Mode was added as well, designed to offer new challenges for players in the end-game. With these new additions, even players who could tackle the hardest difficulties might find themselves looking to shake up their strategy.
Gordian Quest has ten playable characters, each with four starting decks: a general deck for their class, and three more specialized decks that act as subclasses or archetypes. In addition, regardless of the chosen starting deck, there are three skill trees to progress that each cater to a certain playstyle. Due to this extreme level of modular customization, there are viable party builds that fit practically every preference, but one is arguably more well-rounded than the others.

The first step to building towards this party is selecting Catherin the Cleric as the starting character. All of the Cleric builds in Gordian Quest are strong, and since players begin the campaign with only one party member before acquiring a second member early on, Catherin is a solid choice. Regardless of which specialization she employs, Catherin's skills allow her to excel at damage dealing just as well as other more traditional damage-dealing classes from as early as level one.
