With rumors and possible leaks pointing towards the next expansion possibly being World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, we thought we'd take a quick look at the Great Dragonflights as well as a few of the Lesser Dragonflights that we have encountered. Of course nothing regarding the next expansion is official until Blizzard announces it on April 19th, but in the meantime, here is a quick look at where they are and what they are up to....as far as we know.
Great DragonflightsThere are five Great Dragonflights, Black, Blue, Bronze, Green, and Red. Each is governed by a leader known as the Aspect. These were charged by the Keepers to have dominion over certain elements of creation. After the Cataclysm the Aspects surrendered their immortality.
Black DragonflightAspect: Neltharion aka. DeathwingDominion: Earth After the Cataclysm most of the Black Dragonflight were dead. There remain a small flight of black dragons in Outland. These were unaffected by the Cataclysm and are led by Sabellian. A few young black dragons remain in Azeroth. They call themselves the earth-warders and can be encountered in Island Expeditions.Current Actors:
Sabellian aka. Baron Sablemane: Last seen in Outland, leading the remaining black dragons in the Blade's Edge Mountains. Wrathion: Last seen in Ny'alotha, the Waking City where he helped us reach N'Zoth the Corruptor but feared to enter N'zoth's chamber lest he become corrupted. Ebyssian aka. Spiritwalker Ebonhorn: Last seen at the Chamber of Heart to assist in the defense of Azeroth during Battle for Azeroth. Blue DragonflightAspect: KalecgosDominion: Magic The Blue Dragonflight, ravaged by Deathwing during the War of the Ancients, was led by the then Aspect, Malygos until Malygos' eventual
