When it comes to raw power, Nynaeve (Zoë Robins) outclasses the other Aes Sedai inThe Wheel of Time. A lack of proper training hasn’t stopped her from accomplishing some remarkable feats in the show’s first season. Without her impressive abilities on their side, the main characters would have already lost the battle against the Dark One’s forces.
What Nynaeve has been able to do with the One Power allowed her to easily distract attention from the other four Dragon Reborn candidates. Even though her age didn’t fit with Moiraine’s expectations of the Dragon Reborn, her power alone made her a noteworthy suspect. As the show has pointed out, the Aes Sedai hadn’t seen a channeler with Nynaeve’s strength in centuries. How she Healed the people around her in episode 4’s ending and the destruction she was able to unleash on the Trollocs proved that despite her inexperience with the One Power, Nynaeve is easily one of the show’s most powerful characters.

Nynaeve being so far ahead of the other Aes Sedai can be attributed to how the One Power works. A person’s capabilities with the One Power aren’t determined solely by skill and training. Some are simply born with stronger connections to the True Source and in turn have greater potential than others. Nynaeve can draw upon more saidar (the female half of the One Power) than most women, including those who have been trained at the White Tower. Nynaeve obviously has much to learn but is already above the level of so many Aes Sedai thanks to her unusually high potential.
