Caution: Spoilers Ahead for The Book of Boba Fett Episode 5
What did the Armorer make for Grogu in The Book of Boba Fett episode 5? With how protective Din Djarin is of Grogu—dubbed «Baby Yoda» by millions of adoring fans—it makes sense that he would want him to have some sort of armor, especially now that Grogu is continuing his Jedi training. As such, with both Din and the Armorer returning in The Book of Boba Fett episode 5, “Return of the Mandalorian”, it was the perfect opportunity for the show to capitalize on that.
In episode 5, Din reunites with the Armorer and gives her his Beskar spear from The Mandalorian season 2 episode 5 to forge into armor for Grogu. While forging the armor, the Armorer implies that Din’s actions will be a hindrance for Grogu since Jedi are taught to forego attachments, something that is the opposite of The Way of the Mandalorian people. Nevertheless, she keeps at it, and soon enough, Grogu’s new armor is complete.

The audience is never actually shown what the Armorer forged for Grogu, but there are some easy enough guesses to make about it. The wrapping used for the armor is made in the shape of Grogu’s head, so that could be hinting at it being a helmet. Additionally, episode 5 opened with Din burning himself with the Mandalorian Darksaber in a fight, so it’s also possible that that inspired him to make Grogu something for his legs so the same thing wouldn’t happen to him.
The most likely option for Grogu’s armor, however, is some sort of chainmail. Something that goes around the torso fits the most classic interpretations of armor, so it would make sense for Din to want something like that for Grogu. As for why chainmail,
