Yet another quiz has invaded the shores of TikTok—it's called the Mental Age Test, and it's not exactly designed to qualify a person's intellect, as the name seems to imply. Similar to other 'tests' that have gone viral on the social media platform, this one requires the quiz taker to visit a third-party website and answer a series of questions as honestly as possible. They are then given a final result pertaining to their brain’s actual age, which they can in turn share in a TikTok post.
People who enjoy going through questions and sharing their answers online probably consider the exercise an entertaining way to summarize certain parts of their personality for their audience. Those who know the user in real life may feel the need to confirm the veracity of their friend's quiz results just for fun. And much like any other user who likes to participate in TikTok trends, they may even feel the urge to take the test themselves so they can compare findings. One such example that recently raked in many participants on TikTok is the Human Emotion Quiz, which, as the name says, reveals whether someone's personality most resembles emotions like 'joy' or 'sadness', based on their answers to ten simple questions.

The 'Mental Age Test' is the first test hosted by A Real Me, a third-party website that specializes in fun online quizzes. According to the quiz's page, the Mental Age Test originated from Japan and is not at all related to a person's I.Q. Instead, it is designed to measure the test taker's psychological capabilities in comparison to how long it takes for an average child to attain the same level of skills.
