For anyone starting, it might be a surprise that there are no exclusive dodge maneuvers in the game, and that is not bad news as the game lets the players get creative. The brakes are the most useful dodging tool when done right. Hitting the brakes at the right moment slows down the dragon allowing the players to make a quick drift (in the direction of choice) and dodge away with a quick boost. Using the updraft or the geysers is one way to do it. Flying into an active updraft would propel the dragon upwards at high speed, requiring the player to perform a sharp upside-down turn letting any projectiles go past them. This is probably the easiest and most effective way to dodge in the game.
