Activision has released Warzone Season 3, Classified Arms.
At launch, the battle royale game’s latest major update includes a new point of interest, significant changes to several other areas of Caldera, a new Gulag and a fresh Contract, among other features.
The new point of interest is Dig Site. Featuring abandoned excavation machines and equipment, tents and massive skeletons, it’s located between Mine and Ruins.
Runway, Peak and Lagoon have also been updated ahead of the launch of Operation Monarch in May, when Godzilla and King Kong will be unleashed on Caldera.
The rebuilt Peak offers increased accessibility to the stronghold buildings, the mountaintop and the dormant volcano via new tunnels, ascenders and staircases.
Runway includes new barracks, hangars and other structural additions, while a receding tide at Lagoon offers a new sandbar, paths and cover.
Season 3’s new Gulag, Hold, “is a symmetrical arena located in the belly of a ship moored just off the coast of Caldera, with identical hallways on the perimeter of an otherwise open space”, according to Activision.
Warzone’s new Sabotage Contract increases the risk-reward of travelling in vehicles. After picking up a Sabotage Contract, squads receive a vehicle target somewhere on Caldera. If they take it out within the time limit, they’ll get a Cash bonus, an increased Contract Level and an Armored Truck Deployment.
As detailed in the official patch notes, the Season 3 update weighs in at approximately 40 GB for those who own the free-to-play version of Warzone and are on the latest updates. PC users will require an additional 13 GB of space for the patch copying process, but this is only temporary space and will be reclaimed following the patch installation.
