According to an industry insider, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will include Warzone 2. The state of Call of Duty is in limbo after Vanguard's tepid launch, but as always, a new entry is slated to release this year. Although not officially confirmed, rumors suggest that this year's title will be Modern Warfare 2. That said, it may not be the only Call of Duty product debuting in some fashion this year.
It was recently reported by Bloomberg that Warzone 2 was in development and would launch sometime in the coming years, but nothing was known about it. Given the sudden success of Warzone, it was speculated that the first game wasn't built with the kind of long-term sustainability that Activision is now looking for. As such, a sequel could remedy a lot of foundational problems with the game and allow for a true live service platform without significant interruption.

According to insider Tom Henderson, Activision will be officially announcing Warzone 2 in the coming days, and it will be included with Modern Warfare 2. It's unclear if it will launch alongside the game or have a staggered launch in early 2023 like the first Warzone did, but it does suggest it's closer than people may have originally expected.
