Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters' first real threat (outside of the big stonking tutorial Bloodthirster) is Kadex Ilkarion. This guy is Daemon Prince of Nurgle, immortal, and leading the largest force of Plague Marines you would have seen up to this point. We are going to try and kill him.

Kadex is incredibly powerful at this point in the game. Your Knights can easily dispatch the lesser forces of Chaos, but a Daemon Prince is on a whole other level. He’s so powerful in fact, that his defeat isn’t the end of this mission. It’s an optional side bit in an already staggeringly difficult battle.
If defeating Kadex is optional, then why should you go out of your way to beat him? Defeating Kadex isn’t easy, but him flying around the battlefield and messing with your formations (more on that in a bit) is harder to deal with. Simply put, pushing yourself to defeat Kadex early, makes the rest of the mission substantially easier.
Kadex is easily the toughest enemy you have faced thus far. He has more HP than most patrols you’ve faced. He has more HP than the entirety of some missions you’ve completed. He’s going to take a full turn of blasting to take out.
One thing to note is that Kadex is very slow, but has other ways to traverse the battlefield, making his slow movement mostly irrelevant.
Kadex deals just enough damage and causes just enough ailments that he’s a pain to deal with. His attacks are fairly basic, but the addition of Blind, Hobbled, and AOE damage means you are going to struggle to get close to him, struggle to shoot him, and get punished for sticking together.
